This Indonesian eatery is located at the junction of Jalan 1 and Jalan Besar in Dengkil. The restaurant is well-lit and very clean with pleasant helpful staff. They offer a variety of Penyets and Bakso but also have noodles and soto. We ordered the recommended Ayam Penyet (RM 13.00) which comes with a whole chicken leg, 2 deep fried prawns, sambal, raw salad and rice. The prawn addition, not normally served with ayam penyet was a pleasant surprise. They were of a good size and very fresh. The ayam penyet itself was freshly cooked and the sambal complimented both the chicken and raw salad perfectly. We also ordered a Bakso Biasa (RM 8.00) to share. It came piping hot with 4 small and one huge beef balls. The sambal and sweet soya sauce condiments went well with both dishes. Overall, it was a good meal, especially when it was served in a super clean and friendly environment. Would I recommend it? Yes. The place is pleasant, the food is fresh and hot. And if you are on the way back from the airport, it is a nice quaint place to try some Indonesian food.
Excellent Indonesian food at affordable prices. They have been growing from 1 shop to 2 and have renovated them to make it more presentable and cleaner. Food quality is excellent. Try it to experience it
A hidden gem of a modest restaurant that served simple food for breakfast, lunch and high tea. Their location was hidden and remote in the slow moving town of Dengkil. The bakso soup was refreshing when taken hot and all other dishes were served hot from the wok. Simple furnishing but what matter most, the restaurant was clean with fast service. Their rates were welcoming.
A Hidden Gem with Stellar Service I recently had the pleasure of dining at Warong Bakso Jawa and was thoroughly impressed, not just by the food but also by the exceptional service. The ayam penyet was absolutely divine! Freshly fried to order, it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was satisfying. While the food was fantastic, I was equally impressed by the attentiveness of the two waiters of the day (in red jersey & black tshirt featured in photos). They were quick to clear our plates, took our orders promptly, and ensured our food arrived in a timely manner. The rice was served within 10 minutes, and the main course, the ayam penyet set, followed shortly after. Although there was a minor hiccup with our drink order, the waiter quickly rectified the situation and apologised for the inconvenience. This kind of proactive service and politeness is rare to find, especially in a popular local eatery these days. While I didn't expect a 5-star dining experience due to the crowd, the polite and efficient service at Warong Bakso Jawa exceeded my expectations. It's refreshing to see a restaurant that prioritises both delicious food and excellent customer service. Keep it up! #FoodinDengkil #jjcmDengkil
Food was so great. I ordered 2 set of Ayam Penyet, Talapia Penyet, and Soto. Chicken & Fish freshly fried before serve. Sambal superb. Potion perfect.
food portion was good. the sambal was tasty and not too spicy. the chicken although a bit dry (maybe it was kampung chicken) was also good. ayam penyet set also came with 2 pieces of fried prawn and tempe. the bakso was also good clean place and good atmosphere service was fast and good
Makanan a bit pricey tapi sedap je. Always full with customer.
1. Food - No comment. Everything just right. - Ayam Penyet comes with 2 fried prawn, a bowl of soup (sup kosong), fresh ulam (vegies - kacang panjang, kacang botol, timin, salad & fried tempe) & sambal penyet. - The level of hotness/ spiciness of the sambal is toleratable for me. - I'm guessing the chicken was boil first & then fried as it's really crispy outside & juicy inside. - As for the bakso, it was superb. You can see from the picture itself that they put very generous amount of pentol (meatball) - However, my tongue at first not ready for the sambal inside the bottle. Really spicy. 2. Service - Asking the waiter to recommend what to eat as this is our 1st time eating here & she was really helpful. - Waiting time also less than 15 minutes. 3. Atmosphere - Really neat & clean! - Do normalise & support restaurant with clean surrounding!
